Lens Studio This lens updated and ported a previous JAWS lens experience to Snapchat to commemorate the film’s 50th anniversary. Users found themselves stranded in the water, menaced by a circling shark fin. As the Universal Tram rolled by in the background, the tour guide’s urgent cry of “GET OUT OF THE WATER” heightened the tension, setting the stage for the shark’s sudden attack. At the climax, the shark lunged from the depths behind the user, cutting to the JAWS 50th anniversary logo and completing the cinematic moment.

I was the primary developer on this social lens.
- Ported the existing JAWS lens to Snapchat.
- Updated the scene setup and environment elements.
- Replaced and refreshed tram textures for higher fidelity.
- Scripted the timing, flow, and event sequencing.
- Swapped in updated logos and effects for the anniversary branding.
Reflection
Though compact in scope, this project underscored how even small AR refreshes benefit from attention to detail in pacing and atmosphere. Each of these lenses sharpens my ability to deliver polished, story-driven experiences within tight timelines and platforms.
